🍇🍇🍇 Second week of harvest!
- By admin
After a very hot and dry summer, the rain fell at the right time, relieving the vines and preserving the grapes and their beautiful maturity.
First day of harvest on Tuesday 17 September at dawn for our two hectares of Blanc.
Then we started again on Wednesday 25 September to start with the reds, with the Merlot, which represents the vast majority of our vineyard.
The whole team is there to reap the benefits of the year’s work in the vineyards, from winter pruning to the cellar for fermentation!

Aromas of tar, blackberries and cherries. Full body and a lightly extracted and austere mouthfeel, yet this is flavorful and savory. Intriguing wine. Drink now.

Primeurs 2016
- By admin
We are delighted to share with you the comments of the Clos du Roy 2016:
Neil Martin – Wine Advocate (Robert Parker) 91-93
The 2016 Clos du Roy has a tightly wound bouquet with abundant black fruit waiting to unfold once in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded but firm tannin, engaging blackberry and bilberry fruit mixed with mineral and a very refined and persistent finish that is the best I have encountered from this Fronsac estate. Bon vin! Très bon vin!
James Suckling 92-93
Layered and rich for the vintage with berries, chocolate and meat. Medium to full body and a chewy finish.
Vinous 89-91
The 2016 Clos du Roy is deep, inky and voluptuous with plenty of blackberry jam, crème de cassis, chocolate and spice character. Silky tannins, soft contours and voluptuous fruit give this tasty Fronsac plenty of near- and medium-term appeal.

87 POINTS – CHÂTEAU ROC MEYNARD 2014 – BORDEAUX SUPÉRIEUR
This is a ripe toasty wine. With its red-berry fruits and acidity along with some dry, smoky tannins it is a wine in progress. Drink this concentrated wine from 2018.
